How is it that the best knife makers can make knives that have such simple lines, look somewhat nondescript, have a short feature list and yet perform so exceptionally well?
My guess is that they’ve decided that quality materials and efficient design produces great knives, and that adding a bunch of fancy features just detracts from their value.
The Vex is a great example of that. Benchmade clearly has a winner in this one. It’s a simple, compact folding knife that is extremely versatile.
While it may not be suitable for any sort of bushwhacking, it’ll do just about anything else.
The blade is 3.29 inches of high-carbon BP-coated 8Cr14MoV steel and is very sharp right out of the box.
It features a non-slip G-10 handle with contoured index finger grip and a liner lock mechanism.
Overall it measures 7.72 inches and is available with a plain edge, a combo edge or a serrated edge.
