Before analyzing this official Drizzt Do’Urden blade of Dungeons & Dragons fame, it’s important to review R. A. Salvatore’s description of the Icingdeath sword from The Crystal Shard. Salvatore noted its gem-encrusted pommel and its black adamantine hilt formed in the likeness of a hunting cat’s mouth. The blade was described as curved, diamond-edged and silver.
So other than the fact that this “scimitar” has virtually no curvature, the Icingdeath replica is about as close as you can get to silver, toothed, and gem-encrusted without breaking the bank.
The blade’s silver shine comes from 30 inches of polished carbon steel, engraved with Dark Elven script. And while they aren’t real gems, four silver pegs and two faux diamonds are set into the leather handle.
However, this is not meant for functional use. It’s a collector’s item, for display only. Or you can keep it in the custom sheath that comes with the set. Chances are if you’re a D&D fan, though, you’ll be displaying it proudly.
