This Rurouni Kenshin reverse blade katana from General Edge is one heck of a deal. It’s built from decent-quality materials and will look great as a basic display sword. It’s not intended to be a high-end sword, so the materials are not top-of-the-line, but that helps keep the cost down.
The blade measures 27 inches, constructed from 440 stainless steel. Since it’s a reverse blade, or sakabato, it might be preferable for some left-handed individual since the sharpening is on the opposite side as well.
The sword’s overall length stretches out to 41 inches when you include the 11.5-inch handle, wrapped in black nylon cord. A cast-iron tsuba and pommel are featured on either side of the handle, with the tsuba in a round, traditional design.
This would make a great gift set, too, since it comes with a black lacquered wooden scabbard and display stand. The scabbard fastens together with a similar nylon black cord that you’d find on the handle, complementing the set.
All in all, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a display sword for this price. It’s a great deal, and if you’re a fan of Rurouni Kenshin, it’ll be hard to pass up.
