Mugen’s Typhoon Swell sword from the short-lived series Samurai Champloo is a great deal for an anime replica sword. It’s also a decent choice to consider if you’re looking for a unique and inexpensive replica sword.
The Typhoon Swell blade is made entirely from 440 stainless steel, and measures 29 inches long. It features a double blade design, with a central blood groove running nearly the entire length.
The blade is unsharpened, however, so if you’re a fan of having a display sword that’s battle-ready (or even decently sharp), you won’t find that here at all. That also means it’s more affordable, though.
Both the handle and scabbard are quite decorative, actually. Cream-colored nylon cord wraps around the hardwood handle, ornamented with Mugen’s symbol on either side. And the guard displays the Typhoon Swell’s trademarked two-prong design as well.
Hardwood construction is reflected in the scabbard, too, featuring another gold-steel Mugen symbol accented by steel fittings around the throat and cap. The scabbard comes with a steel suspension ring for display, as well as a cloth back strap so you can wear it whenever you like.
