Spyderco has discontinued the full-sized Persian, but this Mini Persian is a nice replacement. The full-sized knife had a lot of fans, but was also considered a bit bulky.
The mini weighs in at 3.5 ounces, measures 6.8 inches when opened and 3.9 inches closed. That’s a nice compact pocket-sized folder and may make a good candidate for an everyday carry.
Spyderco sure didn’t mess around with the blade. It is high-end Japanese VG-10 steel, known for its thinness and sharpness. That makes this a cutting knife and not a prying knife, so keep that in mind. The blade measures 2.9 inches (75mm).
The blade is “Persian inspired” with its curved belly and upswept tip.
The handle is black micarta with a finger-guard and choil for when you want to choke up for more control. It features stainless steel rivets.
And, of course, it features the same unique good looks that you’ll find on all Spydercos.
