I’m a firm believer in the concept of an emergency tool. Pocketknives and multi-tools prove their worth time and time again. You never know when you’re going to need them until all of a sudden, you do. But owning a pocketknife can present a couple of caveats. What if you’re not used to carrying stuff in your front pockets? Or what if you’re the type of person who doesn’t like a lot of extra weight on their key chain?
Here’s an emergency tool to consider in that case: the 11-In-1 Credit Card Survival Tool from Jack’s Tool Shed. It’s shaped to fit snugly inside your wallet, so that you don’t have to remember to take an extra emergency tool whenever you leave. All you have to do is remember to take your wallet, since hopefully that’s already a habit.
The 11 features on this tool include: a plain-edge knife, screwdriver, saw, can opener, ruler, bottle opener, file, 4-size wrench, nail puller, directional indicator, and (get this) a key chain hole. I love irony.
At first I wondered, though, if it was really such a good idea to be keeping a sharp tool like this in a leather wallet. But my fears were quelled when I found out that the Survival Tool comes with a protective case. It’s thin enough to still fit inside your wallet like a credit card would, but thick enough to keep the wallet from shredding.
This Credit Card Survival Tool is a great thing to have around if you don’t plan on using it every day. But if you’re looking for something with higher quality, more tools, and a much better warranty attached, then check out the Swiss Army SwissTool from Victorinox.
